This is an important message from Bowling Green Street Surgery.
It is with regret that, due to a noticeable increase in instances of violence and aggression towards our staff from a small proportion of our patients, we have taken the decision to stop the booking of ‘on the day’ walk-in appointments.
Whilst patient care is at the centre of everything we do, the wellbeing and safety of our staff is also incredibly important to us. We would like to remind anybody using our services and interacting with our staff, both clinical and non-clinical, to treat them with the same respect, kindness and compassion that you would expect to receive. This will help to ensure all conversations between our patients and our colleagues take place in the right way, leading to you being seen and treated in a timely manner and by the right person.
We will still be providing ‘on the day’ appointments but you must call us on 0116 204 7240 after our reception opens at 8am. Please be aware that the surgery opens its doors at 8am and no patient will be permitted in the building before that time.
Please be respectful of the staff’s safety when they are opening the surgery and be reminded that we operate a zero tolerance to abuse policy.
